We love pizza.... .and we REALLY love homemade pizza... and we make a lot of it. :) It may sound hard, but it isn't.
The first step is to start with the dough.... I use my
Basic Homemade Bread Recipe
for the dough.
Follow the recipe for the bread dough, and then after the first rising, rather than put it into bread pans, just divide it up and put it on pizza pans. If you like thick pizza, use more dough.... if you like thin crust, use less. Press it out, working around until the whole pan is covered with the dough.
Next add sauce.... we just use pasta sauce for this kind. Again, use as much as you like... we like a lot, so we use more.
Another option is alfredo sauce... we love using that.
Another favorite is bbq sauce... for a BBQ Chicken pizza... it is wonderful. The bbq sauce can be spread on alone or use some pasta sauce with it also. Spread the sauce out on the crust.
Then add your toppings.....
cheese - any kind you like - mozzerella, cheddar, and more.
Other toppings can include:
pepperoni
pineapple
hamburger
peppers
onions
ham
chicken
mushrooms
and more.... as many... or as few as you would like.....
You can use a regular pizza pan or cookie sheet.... or pizza stones.
Cheese can be put on first.... or last... or both. :)
Bake at about 350-400 degrees... for about 15 minutes or so. If I use both racks (I usually do since I make about 6 big pizzas at a time! :) ... so when using both racks, I switch the pizzas from one rack to the other halfway through the baking time so that both the top and bottom get done. Watch carefully so they don't burn. Enjoy.... we sure do. :) Thank you for visiting.

So Much at Home
Thank you... I think it needs to be on our menu this next week too! :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWow that looks delicious! I must try homemade pizza this week since grown children who live at home can make their own the way they like it. Thank you for visiting me. Happy New Year! Karen
Good idea to have them make it as they like it..... I tend to limit toppings here as my crew would "maybe" use a LOT of cheese and other goodies on top... and that would cost more! :) Hope you all enjoy the pizza. Thank you for visiting. :)
DeleteWow, these look delicious! I'm feeling all inspired!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with #WeekendBlogHop!

ReplyDeleteIt is a treat.... I think we need to make it this weekend... cheese was finally on sale a couple of weeks ago, so now we have enough to make pizza. :)
DeleteThese pizzas all look delicious. You could open a pizzaria!
ReplyDeleteThank you! My kids keep telling me I could open a ... .bakery, pizza shop, restaurant or more... but I am busy enough just feeding my family! Thank you for visiting. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you.... we sure enjoy it. :) We made 2 deep dish pizzas for supper tonight, but I didn't think to take any pictures. Thank you for visiting. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, it is.... and we really enjoy it. :) Glad you stopped by. :)
DeleteI have issues with pressing out the dough! Mine always springs back into a fat blob! Maybe your bread recipe willl work! I'll pin it and try it with the kids! I will keep you posted! Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday! Come back next week too! Julia
ReplyDeletePressing out the dough is not my favorite part... my "secret" is to spin and press outward on one pizza, move to the next and so on..... I usually start over with the first one again and spread it a little further and keep moving through all of them until the dough stays put.... then I put sauce on rather quickly. I hope it works for you also. Thank you for the link up party. :)
DeleteI've only made homemade pizza once but I REALLY need to give it another whirl! These look super yummy! Thank you for sharing these at On Display Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do... it takes a while to get comfortable with it, but it is worth it. :) Thank you for visiting. :)
