From Hose Holder To Fun Frame!

This is a before and after project... a re-purposed item that has a use after being broken.

We had a pretty metal hose holder which I liked and it looked nice... until it broke.

This is what was left.... it is sharp and needs to be replaced. The other part was thrown away as it was "no good."

I'm so glad I found it....  I picked it up and looked at it.... and held it this way and that, feeling like there should be some use for it.

My son groaned, "Oh Mommmmm..... it's trash... can't we throw it away?"

Well, I throw broken things away, but this... had potential, even if he couldn't see it.

I removed the metal pieces until it was uniform and I thought it looked pretty good.  It could be a wall hanging for inside or outside........

Then I figured out that it would also work as a frame for photography, so I tried a few things....

 So many possibilities...

Sherlock wasn't too thrilled, but he posed anyway....

It was just a little thing.... a little re-purposing project.... not a big deal, but it was fun to "save" that item and turn it into something else that I find useful.

I'm so glad that God also does re-purposing as He salvages our lives and turns something broken into something pleasing to Him... something that honors Him. What a blessing that He didn't just throw us out like trash.... even though on our own, that's all we are.... What a blessing that His work of salvation is given to us if we accept it.

I'm so glad not to remain that "old creature" that I was... and that He has re-made me into a "new creature". I hope you also know Him as your Lord and Savior. What a God we serve.    :)   Thank you for visiting...

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

  1. Oh, how pretty! And, I loved the thoughts you shared about God not giving up on us! So thankful He looks on the heart of us, no matter what kind of a mess we have gotten ourselves into, and He always sees potential, doesn't He? Sending you love and hugs and many prayers going up for you, sweet friend. :)

  2. You are so creative! I love how you used the broken hose as a lens to capture pictures with! You are right about how something that could have easily been trash was repurposed, and so are we in Christ, oh what an amazing thought! :)

    1. I tend to thing "outside the box" a bit on things like this... and it is amazing how many things end up being extra useful. I hope you find some fun items to use also. :)

  4. Very pretty; it would look amazing on a table with a mirror under it and a fresh bouquet of flowers too or just as an accent on the wall as it... so many pretty ways to re-use this "trash".

    1. Yes, it would. At the moment I have had it on my deck and then I pull it to wherever I want to use it at the time. A table centerpiece is a fun idea that I expect to use... either outside or inside. :) Thank you for visiting.

    1. Thank you... it is so funny that my son saw it as a piece of junk not worth saving and other women can see its benefit. :) Thank you for visiting and sharing about your blog party... I put it on my list and I will try to stop by. :)

  10. So glad to see others see possibilities in things that might otherwise be trashed. Enjoyed your words about God.
My husband would have said throw it away also but he knows me too well. Will you show us how you repurpose that pretty frame?
Recently we uncovered a tv stand had out on front porch. Altho had been covered the top still got ruined. Of course that wouldn't stop a crafter from finding use for it. Ended up making a little stand out of it, putting repurposed casters on it and now have more storage for my craft room. The rest of tv stand will be used to make wall shelves in craft room or wherever needed. Same goes for old computer desk taken out of craft room. Also being used for shelving. Middle of tv stand had 2 doors so they'll be reused and the drawer also.
This is thanks to bloggers posting reuses on blogs. Think drawer will be turned into storage under bed. Now if can just get hubs to make brackets for shelves, get some of "stuff" off floor of craft room which is small room to start with.
Love look of your "frame" from hose holder. Just ignore these guys that can't see our visions. Happy Easter

    1. Fun. :) We all have our strengths and weaknesses... and seeing the potential in what would otherwise be considered junk, isn't the strength of my guys... or yours either, it sounds like. :) I am careful though not to overdo it... don't want things to look "junky" or to have too many projects going on at once. Your stand and craft room sound great.... it is so nice to organize things... especially when the materials are free. :) Thank you for visiting.
