All night long last night, the winds blew strongly and some drafts were felt... and it was chilly. Lots of covers on the beds... and a nice warm rice bag (See the post on how to make rice bags here), made things quite cozy while we were in bed. It was so nice to linger in those nice warm covers. :)
This morning; however, when it was time to leave the bed... the little heater and a cup of hot tea sure sounded good. :)
My tea cup, (or mug cup! :) is one of a pair that was given to me by a friend from church. I have had these for several years and I sure enjoy using them. They are beautiful, a nice reminder of my friend and I really like the cups.
As I have said before, tea tastes so much better in a pretty china cup.... or mug. :) If I have to, I will use a plastic cup, but that is so rare that it almost never happens. Even when we have gone camping I have taken a china tea cup with me.... and endured the teasing. :) I did enjoy my tea... or hot cocoa, in it though. I have even taken a more masculine version of a china, stoneware or ceramic mug for my husband and he has enjoyed it.
I would not take these cups camping or stashed in my purse, as these are special and I do not want to break them. I have found cute tea cups at garage sales that are not special to me and though they are pretty, I won't be too upset if they get broken, so those are the ones I take to such functions. My husband likes a big heavy cup and doesn't mind the thick rim of the cup, but I prefer a smaller rim... a thinner cup... not so thin and delicate that I am afraid to drink from it, but thin enough to feel comfortable drinking from it.
The first thing I do in the morning is to have time with the Lord as I read my Bible.... and I do enjoy having a cup of tea as I read sometimes. Other times, I have the tea after I am ready for the day.... regardless, there is usually tea somewhere in my day. As the days get cooler, the hot cups of tea are even more appealing. After a few days of rain and gloomy skies, the sun is out so brightly this morning and I am enjoying my second cup of tea now. I hope you have a wonderful day and that your day includes time with God... and maybe even a cup of tea. :) Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Your cups are really pretty and special! I dare say if I was on the road or camping, I too would bring along a nice cup to sip tea or coffee from. I don't like the cold and we have had our pellet stove on most days lately. Thankfully it heats our whole house. Our home is laid out in such a way that the stove throws heat which travels all through the upstairs and down stairs and really saves on oil. I love it and couldn't possibly do without it. Our east coast weather turns cold very quickly here so I am thankful for my stove. And a pretty teacup or mug! Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
What a nice comment! :) We have never had a pellet stove, but we sure appreciate our little "fireplace" heater. It looks pretty and we use it to just take the chill off a bit... it allows us to wait to turn the furnace on. :) We are having chilly nights, but some of the days are still up in the 60s or 70s.... Thank you for visiting... it was so nice to have you. :)
DeleteSuch pretty cups in a perfect setting ... Your fireplace makes me feel cosy and warm..The most inviting place to be on these chilly nights. Please do have a happy week filled with sunshine....Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you, I sure enjoy the tea cups. :) The fireplace feels so good on these chilly mornings... I am glad you stopped by to visit... it was so nice to hear from you. :)
DeleteI've turned the heat on already a few times. :) I enjoy tea too. What kind do you drink? When visiting a friend last week she served me a new (to me) tea called Good Earth Sweet and Spicy tea. I bought a box this week and even the boys are enjoying it - they said it reminds them of the gum, Big Red. :) Such pretty pictures - I love the one with your Bible. <3
ReplyDeleteWe drink several kinds... I love Candy Cane Lane, Plantation Mint, Vanilla Caramel, green teas and more... of the prepared teas. I also make many of my own blends for health.... or just for flavor... I drink a lot of red clover and pau d' arco tea mixed w/ lots of "goodies" like cinnamon, mint, etc. I like the Good Earth Sweet and Spicy that you mentioned.... there are so many fun teas. I also drink hot water plain sometimes.... or with a little molasses added (it is so full of health benefits). :) Thank you for visiting and for starting such a fun conversation on tea :)
DeleteTea by a toasty fire is always a delight :) And your mug is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week! Hugs
Mmmm... it sounds really good for today... I am feeling a bit chilled... need to put shoes and socks on and put the sandals away today! :) Thank you for visiting and commenting. I hope you have a great week. :)
DeleteIt was warming to see the fire if I had to enjoy it sitting in a chilling RV tonight.
ReplyDeleteA fire does just "look" warmer... and I love the feel of it too. Such a cheery sight. :)
DeleteHi: That tea cup is stunning, very special for sure. Love the fire. We finally had one cool day in Los Angeles. Have a great week. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteIt is such a special cup to me...and I love the all feminine look to it... flowers and pink. :) Thank you for stopping by... it was so nice to have you. :)
DeleteWe camp quite often (in our little camper) and always I have tea, coffee or hot chocolate in a china cup of some type. Having lived in Maine for many years I understand the pleasure of that extra bit of heat on the early falls days before it is time to turn on the furnace.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I am not the only one who takes along a bit of china on a camping trip! :) These beautiful fall days are wonderful... and are warm one day... very chilly the next.... the fireplace heater sure helps. :) Thank you for visiting.
DeleteWe have a Jotel we use in the sunroom year round that keeps the room warm and toasty. I like drinking out of nice china cups especially ones that give memories.
ReplyDeleteA sunroom sounds fun... and china cups are a pleasure... thank you for visiting. :)
DeleteLove that classic tea mug! Thank you for linking up with WYWW! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you... and thank you for the link up. :) So glad you visited. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to Teach Me Tuesday last week. You are very much appreciated! Can't wait to see what you have this week. Hope to see you there. Starts tonight at 8pm CST.
Have an awesome week!
Thank you - I do too. :) Thank you for the linky party. :)
DeleteSuch a warming post this was! I just love your tea cup. One of my favorite things to look at in thrift stores is tea cups. I can usually find some really beautiful ones. Have a blessed evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you.... it is fun to have some extra pretty ones. I am so glad you visited today. :)
DeleteI'd not thought of taking a cup with me. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI started doing that after I couldn't stand one more cup of tea in a styrofoam cup.... I hate the taste of styrofoam. :) Thank you for visiting.
